Movimientos Live
@ The Notting Hill Arts Club
Tuesday 27th October
Movimientos present another essential installment of across the board Latin and global music plus DJs, films and performance.
Starting with two films courtesy of the Native Spirit Festival, one about an indigenous community fighting against the impacts tourism in Mexico, followed by a focus on the healing powers of Ayehuasca. And to tie in with that we have the debut mini-theatre puppet show from our favourite performance artist Jose Navarro, which is inspired by the Ayehuasca ritual and experience.
On the live front we have Ilaria Marè warming up with some bluesy Bossa inspired acoustic soul, followed by one of the most exciting new acts on the scene - Awalè making the link with Eastern Europe and African with their sensational Afro-Gypsy fusion. After tearing down the Arts Club at their show earlier in the year and several notable festival appearances Mano De Dios return with their infectious blend of funky Spanish Rumba and Gypsy Swing. And Mr Huevo, MC from one of THE original radical Cuban Hip Hop groups Los Paisanos brings his a fresh selection of Reggaeton and Hip Hop beats.
Joining Cal Jader on the decks is another Cuban don DJ Angelo bringing an exclusive supply of the funkiest new sounds emerging from Cuba and Latin America.
