Tuesday 22nd September
Throwing down the gauntlet once more Movimientos present a mouthwatering feast of musical revolution with two of London’s finest up and coming acts and two quality touring international acts playing exclusive London shows.
Warming up the vibe with his soulful Samba infused roots music Fernando Aragones is currently touring Europe and makes an exciting debut in London. Longjon La Flecha are currently the hottest act on the Latin underground scene with their seriously deep descarga funk and conceptual storytelling. The sensational Lokkhi Terra re-invent ancient Bengali songs through a dazzling mix of Afro-Latin, Brazilian and Cuban rhythms. They have been unstoppable on the London festival circuit this year and this is an exlcusive chance to see them in an intimate setting. Afrodita’s debut show in London will provide another slice of authentic futuristic Cumbia grooves direct from the source as Movimientos Live regulars are now getting used to. And of course Movimientos DJs Cal Jader and Pablo N lay down an eclectic blend of exclusive fresh music from the Latin underground alongside some vintage treats.

Lokkhi Terra
Lokkhi Terra is the new project from Bangladeshi musician Kishon Khan blending Bangladeshi traditions with African and Latin American and jazz traditions. Whether it is Cuban rumba with Bengali folk, or Afrobeat played on Asian and Latin instruments, or Brazillian Samba with Indian classical. Lokkhi Terra is about the process of mixing which went on 150 years ago in places like Cuba and Brazil are actually happening again now here in Europe, except on a much grander scale. Having smashed Cargo in January this year and gone down a storm at numerous shows on the London festival circuit this year they are ready to announce the debut album with much fanfare

Afrodita
Debut London show from the duo hailing from Mexico City formed three years ago by Immanuel Miralda and Karin Burnett, who turn music into a colourful, energetic and performance-like show. Their concept goes from the Ancient Greeks to the “guapachoso” futuristic, including Cumbia, Reggaeton, Electronica and popular sweet punk. Their mission is to make people dance, sing and have fun. 2008 saw the release of their first album La Reina del Palenke and are currently promoting it inside and outside of Mexico.
